Overview: Senior Workday Payroll Analyst , CoStar Group Arlington, VA | On-site Monday-Thursday, Remote Friday We are currently in search of a Senior Workday Payroll Analyst to join our growing team at our state-of-the-art headquarters in Arlington, VA. The Senior Workday Payroll Analyst serves as the technical and functional subject matter expert for Workday Payroll and related HCM processes. They are responsible for assisting in the support of all aspects of HR Information Technology to include business process configuration, internal and external reporting, and providing day-to-day technology support to the Human Resources and Payroll teams, as well as internal support teams. The Senior Technical Analyst is also responsible for participating in any future development activities, including system upgrades and the implementation of additional applications and functionality. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work across different teams and thrive in fast-paced environment. The Senior HR Technical Analyst reports directly into the Director of HR Technology within the Human Resources organization at CoStar Group.
Responsibilities
Serve as the technical SME for Workday Payroll and related modules including HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, and Security. Configure and maintain payroll-related business processes, earning and deduction codes, pay groups, payroll calculations, validations, and controls. Support payroll processing activities, including payroll audits, reconciliations, and issue resolution. Partner with Payroll and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll calculations and downstream financial impacts. Lead advanced configuration including business process frameworks (BPF), calculated fields, condition rules, validation rules, and security policies. Own tenant health, configuration consistency, and adherence to Workday best practices. Analyze work processes with an eye on efficiency, quality and data-driven decision making. Coordinate regression testing, feature enablement, and production deployments. Recommend adoption of new Workday features based on business value. Maintain documentation for configuration, integrations, and processes. Support audits and respond to data access reviews. Work with the HR and Payroll teams to evaluate future Workday enhancements and modules, recommend usage, and support the implementation of new Workday capabilities. Lead the planning and execution of Workday projects, business requirements, business processes and workflows, system configuration and changes, controls and security optimization. Identify opportunities within existing processes and implement scalable solutions. Establish processes/controls to maintain data integrity for critical fields feeding into other systems.
