Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37.5hrs Labcorp is a leading global life sciences company that includes contract research and developmental services to the pharmaceutical, medical technology, crop protection and chemical industries.
Job Responsibilities
Lead Method Development activities pertaining to in particular difficult to test chemicals Trains and directs less experienced laboratory personnel by in developing and implementing training plans Able to review work of others for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness and soundness of technical judgement Sets up and performs a variety of studies/analyses using appropriate instrumentation with routine and non-routine methods Ability to conduct most processes/tasks in support of broad portfolio of study types Critically review study documentation and suggest changes where appropriate Provides input and participates in study meetings (ie pre-initiation meeting) Reviews own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment Deliver results within agreed timeframes, whilst recognising changes in priorities. Ability to write, review and revise standard SOPs Ability to prepare results and presentations based on the work performed Participate in internal method development projects, as appropriate and act as the department process owner as required Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Chemistry Additional Job Standards: Experienced in the use of standard laboratory equipment within Physical Chemistry testing eg: LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, HPLC-uv Provides technical advice and expertise on the conduct of particular techniques or phases of a study and interpretation of results for inclusion into study reports as well as training and mentoring operational staff in the conduct of these studies Developed an expertise in the specific field of Physical Chemical Testing , pertaining to OECD 100 series testing and CIPAC Some experience of training team members Proficiency with I.T and computer software packages such as Excel and proven numeracy skills Organised and self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative Strong knowledge of GLP Due to the remote location of this site, there are no public transport links available Benefits: Competitive salaries No weekend work Wider benefits package including pension and generous holiday allowance Excellent relocation package (subject to criteria The Technical Specialist will join our expanding Physical Chemical Testing team.
