Building Engineer-JLL What this job involves: As a Building Engineer at JLL, you'll be at the heart of keeping critical building systems running smoothly and efficiently for our clients. This role puts you on the front lines of facility operations, where you'll operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across all systems. We believe the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thrive, and you'll demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area—whether that's Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations—while being multi-skilled in others to successfully complete your daily and weekly work assignments. You'll be responsible for maintaining mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to keep facilities and building systems up to applicable standards. What your day-to-day will look like: • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment at client sites, ensuring work is accomplished with minimum disruption and followed by adequate clean-up • Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to keep facilities up to applicable standards • Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to maintain HVAC systems at optimum performance levels • Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance tasks • Review monthly client service request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems, and monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors • Lead and assist with event setup and teardown activities including electrical, audio visual coordination, and working with security teams as needed • Comply with departmental policy for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace Required qualifications: • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent • 3+ years of similar working experience in facility operations or building maintenance • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs • EPA Universal Technician Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment) • Ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of problems or malfunctions, and take corrective action as required • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients, vendors, and team members • Availability for call-in work and flexible scheduling as needed to support facility operations • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and lay for extended periods to
