One of the best parts of the role is that Amazon has a global presence therefore domestic and international travel may be necessary. Team work is absolutely necessary for us to accomplish our goals. Working within the team, you will depend on others to accomplish the required work such as internal groups as well as external suppliers and consultants including utilities, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors. Key job responsibilities Daily responsibilities will include designing the Mechanical and Fire Protection systems of Data Centers, and utilizing Revit to create and maintain BIM models. You should be able to work with support and guidance within a team environment accomplish assigned tasks. This includes working with internal groups as well as external suppliers and consultants. Other tasks you will be involved in: • Be self-motivated and work within the MEP group as well as within other teams. • Support in preparing and developing detailed Revit models of Mechanical and Fire Protection building systems. • Developing & publishing construction documentation for Mechanical and Fire Protection building systems designs in a fast-paced environment to meet scheduled deliverables. • Assist with creating and maintaining BIM templates and enforce BIM standards. • Reviewing consultants Mechanical and Fire Protection models, Ensuring Information Models meet AWS standards and are following the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR). • Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations. • Assist the project team with information exchange processes between internal and external customers. • Recording and reporting of key metrics to management. • Be positive and always offer creative, out of the box solutions. A day in the life As a BIM Designer, you will collaborate across disciplines and teams to refine data center designs. Your work includes creating detailed models, drawings, prototypes, and updating managers and leaders of changes to the building design. You engage in design discussions, review feedback from peers and collaborators, and adjust designs to ensure our data center solutions meet the highest standards of efficiency and quality.
