The MES Production Scheduler is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing capacity production schedules within the Ortems APS scheduling environment. The role ensures that customer demand, production priorities, material availability, workforce availability, tooling, equipment capacity, and maintenance constraints are converted into executable production schedules. Working closely with Production, Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and MES teams, the scheduler continuously monitors schedule adherence, manages production constraints, performs scenario analysis, and drives schedule optimization to maximize throughput, delivery performance, and resource utilization. This is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibility. The position acts as the primary business owner of production scheduling within the MES ecosystem. What you’ll do: Production Scheduling Own and maintain finite-capacity production schedules in Ortems APS Convert customer demand and production plans into executable production schedules Sequence production orders considering machine capacity, material availability, tooling constraints, workforce availability, operator skills, shift patterns, and production priorities Release production orders through the approved Ortems-Apriso workflow Monitor execution status and continuously adjust schedules to mitigate disruptions Schedule Optimization Optimize production sequences to minimize changeovers, setup losses, waiting time, bottlenecks and WIP Balance capacity utilization across production resources.Execute what-if simulations and scenario analyses to support decision making Develop recovery plans for machine breakdowns, material shortages, quality issues and changing customer priorities Drive continuous improvement of scheduling rules and planning parameters MES / Ortems Ownership Act as Key User and subject matter expert for Ortems APS scheduling Maintain scheduling parameters, calendars, capacities, shift models, constraints and planning rules Validate planning master data and identify data integrity issues impacting scheduling performance Support MES deployment, testing, UAT, go-live and stabilization activities Escalate and track system defects, integration issues and scheduling process gaps Cross Functional Coordination Participate in daily production, planning and operational review meetings Coordinate closely with Production Supervisors, Material Planners, Maintenance, Engineering and Quality teams Communicate schedule risks, capacity constraints and recovery actions Support the development of standard work and scheduling procedures KPI Management Monitor and report: Schedule adherence Production attainment On-time order completion Capacity utilization Backlog Throughput Changeover performance WIP levels Planning accuracy Analyze root causes of schedule deviations and implement corrective actions Qualifications: Bachelor degree or technical diploma in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing,
