Key Responsibilities
Support manager in developing fully capable, highly proficient structural engineers in CSE Support ensuring the successful execution of projects using Engineering Standard Work (ESW). Perform state-of-the-art ANSYS Finite Element Analysis for stress, vibration, determination of low cycle fatigue life and residual life (fracture mechanics) prediction. Ability to write clear substantiation documentation, as well as to create and provide impactful, persuasive technical presentations to internal and external customers. Drive execution efficiency on project commitments with high technical quality Support planning and manage the technical tasks and milestones, resources, employee development Provide classroom and on the job training on structural methods, tools and processes Coach and mentor young structural engineers and interns Collaborate with project, discipline stakeholders to resolve key structural problems Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy. Develop and incorporate new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and as a team contributor. Contribute to PW IEC and Global structural engineering discipline forums Basic Qualifications: BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 13+ years prior relevant engineering experience OR Advanced Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 11+ years prior relevant engineering experience Excellent structural analysis experience on compressor hardware, especially Rotors, casings and kinematics Strong technical skills in structural engineering tools & methods Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and critical thinking skills Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components Results focus and the ability to drive tasks to completion through disciplined execution Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the development of gas turbine engine compressor hardware Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative Eager to learn new things, contribute a fresh perspective, and share knowledge with others A passion for mentorship and professional development of others In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work.
