As part of our Leadership team, you will: The Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) Technician supports the Winnipeg Plant by helping ensure products, processes, and operations meet General Mills’ food safety and quality standards. Provide technical support to plant operations, the FSQ engineer and manager in day-to-day plant floor activities. Provide leadership in the areas of Food Safety and Quality Management with an emphasis on consumer requirements, continuous product quality improvement and productivity improvement. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Monitoring Product Quality - measure key quality characteristics of the process. Maintaining Testing Equipment in a Functional and Calibrated Order - responsible for keeping all test machines used for monitoring quality calibrated and properly maintained. This can involve using test standards to check readings and adjust tools accordingly. Process Management – inspect and audit processes and products to ensure they conform to the company's food safety and quality standards. Food Safety Incident Control - investigate food safety incidents, collaborate with Production, Sanitation and Maintenance to establish corrective actions and implement those actions to provide product and brand protection. Supplier Conformance – prepare raw material acceptance reports to ensure conformance to standard. Continuous Improvement - Support plant initiatives on root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action activities Conduct food safety and quality inspections, verifications, and monitoring activities. Support environmental monitoring, sampling, and follow-up actions. Investigate quality or food safety concerns and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Support product traceability, quality holds, positive release, and documentation requirements. Partner with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Engineering, and other teams to resolve issues and sustain standards. Verify compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, sanitation requirements, procedures, and plant standards. Record and communicate results accurately using applicable quality and manufacturing systems. Support training, process verification, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives. Lab cleaning and maintenance as needed Support plant tests, capability studies and start-ups, as needed, including additional analytical test requests Approval of product against specifications Data entry into MQIS (statistical analysis database) Lead execution of plant label verification program Partner with team leaders and technicians to influence quality decisions and support production Assist in development, maintenance, and
