Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Hong Kong and Singapore Business Unit is responsible for the overall financial leadership, performance, governance, report ing, planning, and forecasting, with full accountability for financial results and insight generation across Finance and Valuation activities. As a key member of the business unit leadership team, the CFO is a strategic advisor to the CEO and senior management , and provides forward-looking financial, capital, and investment insights to support decision-making, drive profitable growth, and ensure effective financial management, regulatory compliance, and risk oversight across the business unit . This role requires strong functional leadership to ensure Finance and Valuation op erate cohesively as a single ecosystem, delivering a unified and consistent view of profitability, capital, and performance. Essential Functions Performance management and insights: Leads and manages all local market accounting , financial reporting , and financial control activities . Leads financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for the business unit , ensuring alignment with valuation, capital, and investment assumptions and delivering forward-looking, driver-based insights to support business planning. Financial close and reporting quality: Oversee s timely, accurate, and complete financial close activities and deliverables, partnering with relevant stakeholders to maintain high data integrity and reporting standards. Oversees the review and analysis of expenses for the business unit. Identifies key drivers of unit costs by function and compares actual expenses to budget and pricing allowable. Strategic finance partnership and s takeholder management: Maintains a dotted line reporting relationship to the Business Unit CEO and acts as a primary financial advisor to the business unit leadership team , ens uring alignment of financial, capital, and insights with the BU strategy , objectives , and risk appetite . Serves as a member of the APAC Finance leadership team and supports the strategic and tactical direction of the function in the region . Transformation and automation: Leads Finance transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce manual processes, and enhance analytical capabilities. Drives standardization, automation, data integration, and modernisation of workflows (including HK RBC processes), enabling the Finance function to shift focus from production to insight generation. Financial governance and controls: Ensures effective internal controls, compliance, and financial governance across the market, including policy adherence, approval authorities, and segregation of duties. Oversees and reviews Sarbanes Oxley scope, compliance, risks and controls. Collaborates with external and internal auditors. Regulatory and statutory coordination: Coordinate s statutory reporting and i nteracts with local market insurance regulator s to maintain a strong profile of the RGA business with respect to the high standard of financial reporting and controls . Works with valuation, auditors, administration and senior management to ensure everyone understands the accounting and how it impacts RGA's financial statements, capital requirements, etc. Capital, liquidity, and balance sheet stewardship: Collaborates with regional functions such as APAC Financial Solution (APFS) , Finance , Valuation, Structured Finance and Pricing in developing and
