OnStar Connected Operations Engineer

A senior developer is needed to design and deliver Databricks-based executive reporting and a high-quality end-user experience for data access and consumption across GM’s telematics information. This role will enable scalable, reliable, and intuitive solutions for Phyton automation. The role requires a strong root-cause analysis mindset to extract insights from data already stored in the database and use them to conduct investigations.

Design, build, and maintain executive-level dashboards and reports using Databricks SQL and dashboarding/visualization capabilities, focused on clear storytelling, performance, and ease of use. Collaborate with data engineers to define and validate optimized data models that: Improve report query performance and scalability. Enable an exceptional user customer experience. Develop solutions for data analytics. Investigate end-to-end system performance and customer experience issues and applying sound technical judgment to data for the develop of system remedies. Configure and manage role-based access and data security in dashboards and semantic models in alignment with GM policies. Continuously monitor and tune report and query performance, recommending data model or design changes as necessary. High level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution where problems are complex. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience. 5&#43; years of experience as an analytics/report developer, BI developer, or data visualization engineer building production dashboards and reports. English: Advanced Hands-on experience with Databricks for analytics and reporting, including: Strong SQL & Phyton skills. Experience building and managing power Bi dashboards and visualizations. Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to frame complex data in clear narratives for senior and executive stakeholders. Strong collaboration skills and a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams (data engineers, architects, product owners, and business partners).
