 Responsibilities: Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a caring and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our behavioral health team and support individuals facing mental health, substance use, and emotional wellness challenges. In this rewarding role, you will provide direct patient care, foster a safe and therapeutic environment, and work closely with nurses, Behavioral Health Specialists, and other healthcare professionals to support each patient's recovery journey. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a critical role in promoting patient safety, dignity, and well-being. Through compassionate observation, patient engagement, and assistance with daily care needs, you'll help create an environment where patients feel supported, respected, and empowered throughout their treatment experience. How you will help support the team and the community. Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Behavioral Health Specialist or Registered Nurse. Support patients experiencing a wide range of behavioral health conditions, including substance use disorders, PTSD, depression, anxiety, crisis situations, trauma-related concerns, and other mental health challenges. Observe and monitor patient behaviors, moods, interactions, and overall well-being, reporting significant changes to licensed staff. Conduct patient rounds and precautionary safety checks to maintain a secure and therapeutic environment. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal care and other basic patient care needs. Build positive, supportive relationships with patients while encouraging treatment participation and recovery-focused behaviors. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized patient care plans and treatment goals. Maintain accurate documentation and communicate observations to the healthcare team. Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming patient care environment. Assist with stocking supplies and ensuring patient care areas remain prepared and operational. Support a culture of respect, compassion, safety, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Specialized training in basic patient care preferred (e.g. CNA, MA, military medical training, NA, NT, nursing student who has completed skills labs or has at least 6 months experience in direct patient care) We're all about well-being, starting with yours.
