As the Senior Stress Analyst you will be responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level stress analysis of spacecraft flight structures and mechanisms, electronic components, and ground and test support equipment using standardized processes and tools. You will review and coordinate stress analysis and provide technical mentorship to less experienced stress analysts and actively support knowledge transfer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

INCLUDE: • Generating stress analysis technical memorandums and reports to support data packages, peer reviews, and external customer reviews • Preparing technical charts and represent the organization in design reviews and outside contracts •  Supporting static structural test definition, requirements, monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis while understanding and incorporating other applicable mechanical (thermal, dynamic, materials, etc…) and system level requirements/parameters into the stress analyses • Supporting development of weight-optimized, compliant flightworthy components and structural assemblies which satisfy the contractual design criteria as well as any producibility requirements defined by Manufacturing and Quality Engineering The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Basic Qualifications 
 • Experience with NX and NX/NASTRAN finite element modeling and analysis tools or equivalent • Experience with analytical techniques to perform structural analysis • Knowledge of and applicable experience with spacecraft and/or aircraft structural analysis methods, including classical hand calculations and analysis of mechanical joints Desired Skills 
 • A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position • Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment • Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently • Non-linear, fracture & fatigue, and buckling analysis experience • Mechanisms, antenna, electronic component, ground support, hoisting, and test support equipment, and composite materials analysis experience • Experience with Abaqus, Matlab, Mathcad and CREO • Static, vibration, acoustic, modal, shock test experience of aerospace flight hardware Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $106600.00 - $198000.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
