Job Description
This position audits operating plans and procedure compliance. This role develops, implements, and assesses long and short-range operating plans for package operations and helps to implement improved operating plans, new services, technologies, and enhanced procedures. This position assists with tools, training, and methods certification. This person works with others to identify and prioritize opportunities for operations and process improvements where key business plan objectives are not being met. The IE Package Planner serves as the communications liaison for other functions and coordinates initiatives impacting package operations planning requirements. This position may supervise and train Interns, CoOps, Specialists, Part-Time Supervisors, or Associate Engineers.
Responsibilities
Develops recommendations and solutions to improve operations Works with management team to implement changes to reach desired cost-reduction and service improvements Analyzes current operating plan to determine opportunities for improving the process and workflow (e.g., analyzes process flow charts and production schedules, etc.) Reviews recommendations (e.g., improved job set-ups, operating plans, etc.) with IE and operations teams to gain approval Identifies issues that require training or re-training (e.g., Operating Plan execution, process adherence, proper methods, work measurement, use of technology, etc.) to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Develops and maintains work measurement for all operations to support all necessary operating plans Provides training to management for implementation of new procedures, processes, services, and technology.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent - Required Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related field – Preferred Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook Strong Interpersonal communication skills Willing to work flexible shifts hours and possibly weekends Ability to travel Experience supervising employees – Preferred Knowledge of UPS processes, procedures, and methods – Preferred Internal Salary Grade: 20E Employee Type: Permanent UPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Pay Range: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $82.140,00/year to $133.500,00/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
