What You Will Do
The following position is to join our Research Center Team: The Aero-Thermal Testing Group at RTX Technology Research Center is seeking a candidate with experience in experimental testing and test facility operations. The position requires analytical engineering skills and hands-on experience in the assembly, instrumentation, installation, testing and troubleshooting of test articles and test facility support systems. Activities will include experimental test program planning and execution, day-to-day test operations, ensuring the validity and accuracy of experimental data, and effective communication with team members. Also responsible for periodic safety audits, facilitating system maintenance, and the application of Environmental Health and Safety rules. This is a first shift (daytime) position, however, due to the nature of the experimental testing, flexible scheduling and multi-shift test support will be required.
Qualifications
You Must Typically requires: a University Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering field, or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience Minimum 1 year with experimental test execution and test facility operations troubleshooting. Minimum 1 year experience in system design, fluid dynamics, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Minimum 1 year experience with Data acquisition and Control systems, and test instrumentation.
Qualifications
We Prefer Strong technical leadership, troubleshooting, teaming, and documentation skills. Experience generating fluid system schematics (P&ID's) in Visio or AutoCad. Familiarity with ASME Pressure vessel and Process Piping Code. Familiarity with gas turbine technology focused on aero combustor and/or aero compressor testing a plus. Compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety rules and regulations.
