What You Will Do
The Orbit Determination Core team is focused on maintaining and enhancing the existing core functionality and reusable software components to provide a stable, scalable, and efficient foundation that accelerates the delivery of value by stream-aligned teams. The Orbit Determination Timing & Ranging team is focused on delivering precise timing, frequency, and ranging services to support satellite operations and constellation management. The selected candidate will maintain alignment with their home functional organization, remaining current on applicable policies, processes, best practices, and lessons learned, and ensuring their consistent application within the program. The Scrum Master leads the team’s Agile execution and drives successful delivery of each sprint. The role facilitates ceremonies, enables flow, removes impediments, and ensures disciplined, high‑quality execution within the Mission Software ART. The Scrum Master strengthens team performance, supports continuous improvement, and ensures smooth coordination with Product Owners, Product Managers, and the RTE.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily execution of the current sprint, maintaining momentum toward sprint goals. Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Remove impediments quickly and escalate systemic blockers through the RTE when needed. Promote disciplined Agile practices aligned with program standards and DevSecOps workflows. Partner with the Product Owner to ensure stories are sprint‑ready and sequencing is clear. Foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment focused on predictability and quality. Track team-level metrics, support continuous improvement, and promote a culture of transparency. Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and the RTE to maintain cross-team alignment during PI execution.
Qualifications
You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of relevant software engineering experience. Experience with Agile metrics such as backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition. Coding experience using Java, C/C++, or similar programming languages. Experience as a Scrum Master or Agile facilitator supporting software development teams. Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
