Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Staff Support Thread Lead Engineer teams within the Milestone Event & Thread Leads (METL) department of the Aerospace Vehicle and Systems Integration (AVSI) directorate. This position will be located in Roy, Utah. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. The candidate will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the directorate business areas as required to accomplish team and department goals. This is a functional home room (FHR) manager position, involving both the overall functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group of up to 12 engineers, while maintaining a technical baseline of performance on program work. The candidate will spend ~20% of their time on functional/organizational support and ~80% of their time on a mix of technical program work from current/existing tasking, or potential future tasking. Functional management involves, but is not limited to, organizational administrative activities and helping employees’ performance and career development through guidance and training. Program responsibilities will be dependent upon programmatic technical work and may vary by individual, existing assignment; the candidate will bring technical / program work from existing assignment(s), and may support one or more teams within METL and/or AVSI or outside the directorate.
