The intern will support problem solving and expanding understanding in an innovative glass manufacturing process. The intern will learn about and support various manufacturing processes and support engineering teams in conducting experiments and analyze test results.  Part of this assignment will require travel to Canton, NY.   Program Perks:

Author, supervise and analyzing experimental plans. Direct communication with manufacturing, engineering, and research teams. Communicate project status and updates to both the project team and to management, including memos, technical reports, and verbal presentations. Experiences/Education - Required

Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Engineering (preference for Materials Science & Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Glass Science & Engineering, or Chemical Engineering) (Minimum of 2+ years working towards the degree). Preference is for students who will have completed their 3rd year of a BS level college engineering program prior to starting the internship and will be graduating within 12 months of finishing the internship. Strong lab and experimental practices. Ability to collaborate and integrate solutions. Strong data analysis and visualization skills.

Desired Skills

Aim to learn new technologies and processes quickly. Knowledge of Corning processes and business systems as well as being passionate about learning new technologies. Initiative and leadership skills.
