Your Responsibilities
As a Part Time Student Engineering for JD Power Systems located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
Provide design and testing support for the Power Cylinder, Cranktrain, and Geartrain module team Support laboratory test activities, including planning, coordination, and follow-up tasks Apply design experience to support fixture, component, or test-related design work Coordinate procurement of test fixtures Collect post-test measurements, collaborate with subject matter experts on material analysis, and support data processing and interpretation Gather and organize the information required to return parts to suppliers for detailed component analysis Complete limited scope design projects using engineering tools such as Creo Track key project metrics, including requirements approval status and verification progress
This position is NOT available to students on immigration visas What Skills You Need
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree, ideally in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or any additional technical and relevant degrees may apply Some experience with design CAD software. Experience with Microsoft Office software including Excel and PowerPoint Strong communication skills Ability to work 16-20 hours during the academic year Ability to work 30-40 hours during the summer semester Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S. local accredited college/university Graduation date of Spring 2028 or later Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above Must be able to commute to the work location in Waterloo, Iowa, on a daily basis What Makes You Stand Out
