Are you passionate about translating complex finance and technology challenges into clear, actionable architecture? We are building out a Business Architecture practice to guide transformational IT improvements supporting Citi's global Finance functions. The Business Architect (VP) will apply solid functional domain knowledge and architecture experience to help define and evolve Citi's Finance functional architecture, contributing to current-state documentation and future-state design with a growing focus on AI and automation.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Finance and Shared Services to document current and future-state business architectures, anchored to business processes and functions Work alongside data architects to map data dependencies and support alignment of data architecture — including Finance-wide data vision, governance, and platform direction — with business architecture objectives Engage technical partners to align investments to target state architecture, flagging material deviations as appropriate Contribute to business architecture principles supporting straight-through processing and the timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of financial reporting Apply and promote Citi architecture principles, providing guidance to engineering teams on practical application Contribute to the Finance Tech Design Authority and support Permit to Design / Permit to Build governance processes Assist in identifying and evaluating opportunities to embed AI, ML, and GenAI within Finance processes, supporting appropriate governance frameworks Contribute to capability mapping, maturity assessments, and the centralised architecture knowledge repository Support continuous improvement of the business architecture discipline through adoption of best practices, tooling, and training Finance Domain & Transformation Experience Working knowledge of FP&A (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, close), Treasury (cash, liquidity, FX, intercompany), and Management Reporting (aggregation, allocation, multi-dimensional reporting) processes and their data dependencies Experience supporting Finance transformation programmes, with an understanding of how ERP migrations, ledger consolidations, and reporting modernisation impact architecture and downstream platforms Familiarity with ERP platforms (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Financials), Performance Management tools (e.g., Anaplan, OneStream, SAP BPC, Oracle EPM), and cube technologies (e.g., Essbase, TM1) Appreciation of data quality, reconciliation, and control challenges in large-scale Finance environments, and ability to engage Finance SMEs and technology teams on system and process change Qualifications Experience in an engineering and/or architecture capacity supporting Finance or related business functions Track record of contributing to cross-functional business process improvement and enterprise architecture change Comfortable in matrix environments; self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple workstreams Strong communication skills enabling effective engagement up to senior management level Methodical, detail-oriented, with familiarity with modern enterprise information architecture practices AI Domain Knowledge: Working understanding of AI/ML, GenAI, and agentic automation and their relevance to Finance use cases AI Personal Productivity: Ability to use AI tools effectively, including prompt engineering and critical evaluation of outputs Responsible AI Use: Awareness of data confidentiality and responsible use obligations in a regulated environment ------------------------------------------------------ Job Family Group: Technology ------------------------------------------------------ Job Family: Enterprise Architecture & Transformation ------------------------------------------------------ Time Type: Full time ------------------------------------------------------ Most Relevant Skills Please see the requirements listed above.
