College Intern - Data Engineering & AI Description - What a College Intern - Data Engineering & AI does at HP: Develop and revamp Manufacturing Operations data products, incorporating Manufacturing and other Level 3 (L3) functional data where applicable. Design, build, and maintain standardized data pipelines to improve data enablement, reporting efficiency, and process automation. Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for workflow optimization and enhanced business insights. Pilot, develop, and evaluate Generative AI use cases within factory operations, including: Automated operational reporting AI-generated anomaly detection narratives and insights Knowledge management and information retrieval solutions Support the implementation and validation of AI-driven solutions to improve operational effectiveness and decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, gather data needs, and deliver scalable solutions. Document data models, processes, and AI use cases to ensure knowledge sharing and sustainable adoption. Present findings, recommendations, and project outcomes to stakeholders. Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Able to commit for a 5-6 months full-time internship starting in January 2027. Basic knowledge of data analytics, database concepts, and programming languages such as Python or SQL. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience with data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Familiarity with data pipeline development, ETL processes, or cloud-based data platforms. Exposure to machine learning, Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), or AI application development. Interest in manufacturing operations, process optimization, and digital transformation initiatives.
