The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide. Position Summary The intern will join the Data & Analytics team, supporting the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data that informs business decisions. This opportunity provides hands-on experience gathering stakeholder requirements, preparing reports and dashboards, identifying trends, improving data quality, and translating data into clear insights and recommendations. Key Responsibilities
Gather and document data and reporting requirements from business stakeholders. Collect, organize, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources. Assist with developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and visualizations. Identify trends, patterns, and data quality issues that may affect decision-making. Support data cleansing, validation, and quality improvement activities. Translate analytical findings into clear insights and practical recommendations. Document data definitions, processes, assumptions, and project outcomes. Collaborate with technical and business team members on data initiatives.
Requirements
Student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to learn new technologies, processes, and business concepts quickly. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Self-motivated, organized, and willing to take initiative and learn. Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity. Preferred Qualifications
Coursework or project experience in data analysis, business intelligence, information systems, or a related area. Familiarity with reporting or visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Basic experience with SQL, Excel, Python, or similar data technologies. Interest in data quality, governance, analytics, and business decision
