The Role
This position is for a Controls Engineer at the Arlington Assembly & Stamping Plant at 2525 East Abram Street, Arlington, TX. Arlington Assembly Plant is a 3 Shifts/6 days Production operation Plant; candidates for this position will be required to rotate between first, second, and third shift on a periodic basis with availability to support weekend work activities based on area specific needs (including support during scheduled Holiday downtime). The Manufacturing Engineering Controls Team provides support across all areas of the plant as needed; This includes Stamping, Body Shop, Paint Shop, General Assembly and Facilities. We also support Controls interfaces with GMIT operations.
What You Will Do
(Responsibilities): Enforces safe work practices as the highest priority Responsible for controls engineering & electrical support Provides technical support, direction, and training to support personnel/Skilled Trades within the organization. Investigates systems and equipment problems and provides technical input in problem resolution. Controls modifications and continuous improvement of production processes Error Proofing (SEP, vision) Technical troubleshooting and direction for production departments Floor to upper level systems integration Planning Activities Launch Activities Maintenance Supervision (directing of hourly trades to perform work as necessary) Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience 3+ years of Controls Engineer experience supporting manufacturing operations Ability to work / rotate through all 3 shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd) Ability to work over-time, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed Analytical ability and creativity to solve unusual and difficult problems Interpersonal skills to work effectively with line workers, maintenance personnel, and all levels of management Strong work ethic with self-initiative Strong follow up to handle multiple tasks Understanding of manufacturing and tooling processes required Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office & Teams Flexibility to change quickly from one assignment to another as priorities change.
