Test Engineer

LAND software is mostly PC based application code written for the .net framework in C#. It is designed to receive data from a range of industrial sensors and thermal imagers, analyze that data, and provide visual and communication interfaces to industrial plant control and monitoring systems. The software needs to be tested to be accurate & highly reliable in real time, usually running 24/7. The job involves very little website testing.   Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Mostly involved in the Quality Assurance stage of software development and deployment Work with software developers and stake holders for evaluating Windows desktop applications Conduct automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose Ensure any bugs or issues are recorded through the relevant process: capture the precise nature of the issue, describe effects and replication procedures Carry out stress testing, performance testing, functional, regression and localization testing. Run manual and automated tests Test in different environments including PC, occasionally Web and Mobile Assist in the preparation of test plans Work towards departmental and project deadlines Assist in the preparation of software testing metrics

Ability to understand the scope of projects & the software development process Ability to work on multiple projects at one time Ability to analyse documents You will have a demonstrated aptitude for software testing, be disciplined, methodical and well organised. An enthusiastic team player Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self-motivated, self-disciplined, and organised Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs

Bachelor degree in relevant area (eg Engineering/Technology) or equivalent experience Certifications in Testing (eg ISTQB) preferred, but not essential 2years+ Engineering/Instrumentation Software Testing experience preferred Experience in developing test plans would be an advantage
