A Day in the Life The Operational Excellence Director, Transactional Processes, serves as a strategic partner to Cardiovascular Operating Unit leadership, helping drive enterprise transformation initiatives across portfolios. In this role, you will connect enterprise priorities, value stream insights, and business execution to advance operational excellence capabilities, enable sustainable performance improvements, and drive value realization across the organization. We move bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness, always putting patients first in everything we do. This role is remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates located near a Medtronic site to support stronger cross functional collaboration and maintain our competitive advantage. The position requires approximately 50–75% travel to foster collaboration and ensure successful project execution. Partner with Cardiovascular Operating Unit and portfolio leadership to develop and execute transformation strategies aligned with enterprise objectives. Translate enterprise priorities and value stream insights into multi-year transformation roadmaps and execution plans. Identify opportunities to improve customer, patient, operational, quality, and financial outcomes across the business. Drive execution of transformation initiatives and monitor progress against established roadmaps and performance objectives. Facilitate cross-functional alignment, executive problem solving, and issue escalation to remove barriers to execution. Lead deployment and maturation of the Medtronic Performance System (MPS) across portfolios and Operating Units. Coach leaders and teams on operational excellence methodologies, management systems, and continuous improvement practices. Govern realization of operational and financial benefits resulting from transformation initiatives and improvement programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, business operations, operational excellence, continuous improvement, or transformation leadership; or Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience in these areas. Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Experience leading large-scale operational excellence, continuous improvement, or business transformation initiatives. Experience developing and executing strategic roadmaps that drive measurable business results. Ability to influence and align stakeholders across complex matrixed organizations without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading enterprise-wide transformation programs across multiple business units or functions. Experience facilitating value stream assessments, value stream mapping, or end-to-end business transformation initiatives. Experience coaching leaders and teams in Lean, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, or business system deployment. Strong financial and business acumen with demonstrated experience connecting improvement activities to value realization. Experience within medical device, healthcare technology, or other highly regulated industries. For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
