Job Description
As a Qualcomm PDN/EMIR Engineer, you will perform power integrity analyses, such as IR-drop and Electromigration, for a variety of high-performance, high-quality, low-power world-class products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure power integrity closure and sign-off, contributing to the successful execution of product development. The PDN team at Qualcomm is responsible for evaluating block-level and top-level power integrity to ensure optimal performance and power efficiency in advanced cores and SOCs. As a PDN/EMIR Engineer, you will conduct power grid quality assessments, provide feedback to Physical Design teams to improve PDN robustness, collaborate with design and implementation teams to meet Vmin specs, and work cross-functional teams for PDN closure and sign-off. Your role is crucial in developing high-performance, low-power ASIC solutions that drive the future of technology. You Will Be Responsible For You will be a member of a team working on power integrity signoff for Snapdragon Cores and SOCs, methodologies and flows: Performing PDN checks such as IR-drop, ESD and electromigration (EM) for complex cores and full-chip SOCs Developing new techniques and methodologies for PDN analyses, optimization and sign-off Working with design team on selecting use-cases for power integrity sign-off, and performing power analysis on PD gate netlists Working with Physical Design and STA teams for Vmin assessment and optimization Ensuring compliance with power integrity signoff checklists and criteria Automation for power and PDN data mining and processing Anticipating and resolving PDN issues in all phases of development in a timely manner to ensure smooth project execution We Would Love To See Expertise in power and PDN/EMIR tools (RedHawk, RHSC, Voltus, PTPX) used for flat and hierarchical power integrity analysis in modern SoCs Solid knowledge of ASIC design flows (RTL-to-GDS), including synthesis, floorplanning, PnR, CTS, STA, timing closure. Highly proficient in automation: Python, TCL or Perl Comfortable with package design, system-level PDN analyses, thermal analyses or circuit simulation tools and environments is a plus Knowledge of multi-die (2.5D / 3D) ICs and packaging is an advantage Excellent problem-solving skills and result-driven approach, able to work and drive practical solutions under research environment.
