About the role · Newly created role within Worley providing dedicated legal support to Project Procurement teams · Covering UK projects initially and then across EMEA in the future · London based strongly preferred; other major EMEA Worley locations may also be considered As a member of our Legal Department, the Legal Counsel Supply Chain provides legal support to Project Supply Chain teams on significant capital projects in Worley’s MPP and GO businesses across EMEA. Reporting directly to the General Counsel Supply Chain. A leader who develops and implements strategies within his/her areas of responsibility and accountability. Responsible for the legal support to designated Project Supply Chain teams in collaboration with the regional legal teams and the Legal Centers of Excellence. Cooperates with other leaders within the global legal team to ensure that Project Supply Chain teams receive effective legal support and advice across all subject matters. Creates a vision for their own area of responsibility that aligns with the Purpose and Values of the organization. Expected to drive and execute solutions by collaborating across the legal department and through cross-functional or special project teams. Where appropriate, works with other functional groups to provide advice and solutions to Project management on supply chain legal issues facing the business. Key responsibilities · Significant experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating high value, high risk subcontracts and purchase orders within EPC and EPCM environments. · Support certain significant capital projects in the MPP and GO businesses. Acts as lead legal business partner to Project Supply Chain teams on designated capital projects, providing strategic legal support across the full subcontracting and procurement lifecycle including advising on claims. · Supports and advises Project Supply Chain teams on all stages of subcontracting and procurement on these projects, including: · Development of standard forms and templates · Preparation of prime contract flow-downs · Negotiation and execution of subcontracts and POs · Post-award contract management and claims handling · Whilst closely collaborating with GC Supply Chain and the Project Lead Counsel (where applicable) on these matters. · Leads or supports negotiations of high-value and high-risk subcontracts and purchase orders. · Identifies, assesses and manages legal and commercial risks arising from Project Supply Chains, and develops and implements mitigation strategies aligned with business objectives. · Collaborates with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders (including regional legal teams, CoE’s, Operations and cross-functional teams) to manage legal risk, support delivery of project and business objectives, and strengthen supply chain contracting capability across regions. · Serves as an active member of the Supply Chain Working Group, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement and upskill lawyers in regional legal teams. · Supports the General Counsel Supply Chain in driving global consistency in subcontracting practices by establishing and promoting standard contractual positions, negotiation approaches, and risk management frameworks. · Participates in developing and delivering training to Supply Chain teams so that they are trained and skilled in how to draft and negotiate subcontracts and purchase
