Posting Date 08/19/2026 2000 16th Street, Denver, Colorado, 80202, United States of America Duties and Responsibilities: The person in this position will primarily be responsible for providing advice and counsel on a wide variety of traditional labor issues that arise from the day-to-day operations of a growing, complex public company operating in a heavily regulated environment. This person will be part of a cross-functional team that focuses on creating new strategies to support our teammates and drive efficiencies while ensuring that DaVita leads the way in being the Partner and Employer of Choice.   Drafting, implementing, and owning t he Company’s short, medium, and long - term labor legal strategy .   S etting enterprise-wide labor law priorities, aligning legal strategy with business objectives , and ensuring consistent execution across regions, functions, and business units.   Serv ing as a trusted advisor to senio r executives by translating complex labor risk into practical business options, recommendations, and decision points.   Providing expert-level legal guidance across the Company, including to senior executives and the Company’s Labor Relations team, on complex labor-related topics including labor relations, union campaigns, mergers and acquisitions, and matters before state agencies and the NLRB.   Managing outside counsel strategy, staffing, budgets, motion practice, unfair labor practice proceedings, collective bargaining support, and other significant labor matters, including ensuring practical, cost-effective, and business-aligned outcomes.   Lead ing cross-functional initiatives with Legal, People Services, Operations, Compliance, Communications, and Labor Relations to anticipate labor risk, resolve complex issues, and drive durable business solutions.   Leading training regarding F ederal and California labor-related workplace issues.   Advising senior management and DaVita business units on labor compliance and risk management to accomplish business objectives without undue risk and in alignment with the Company’s long-term business strategy .   Develop ing , mentor ing , and provid ing direction to legal and business partners supporting labor matters, including building capability, judgment, and readiness to manage complex labor issues.   Design ing and maintain ing governance processes, escalation protocols, and risk frameworks for significant labor matters, including union activity, unfair labor practice charges, collective bargaining, and labor-related agency proceedings.   Keeping the Company’s senior management abreast of significant NLRB decisions, legislation and rulings that may affect the Company’s business or policy.   Developing a thorough understanding of and familiarity with the Company's business, its people, markets, facilities, customers and competitors in order to identify trends and formulate appropriate structures and strategies.   Establishing a rapport and working relationship with teammates at all levels in order to encourage and continue the proactive use of in-house legal counsel.   Performing special assignments or projects.   Actively shap ing Company culture by role-modeling behaviors , leading activities , and reinforcing DaVita’s Mission and Core Values.   Depending on location, you must be able to travel a minimum of 25%.     A successful candidate will meet the following qualifications and characteristics:   J.D. Degree with minimum 15 years of legal experience, with 10-15 years of traditional labor experience, including labor relations, union campaigns, labor-related matters before state agencies and the NLRB , and collective bargaining .   Experience working with healthcare clients and unions (i.e., SEIU-UHW, NNU, etc.) is a plus, but not required .   A State bar qualification and good standing.   Law firm experience preferred; previous in-house experience preferred.    Strong alignment with DaVita’s Mission and Core Values.
