About the role We're looking Configuration Management Engineer to work on Trident II D5 Strategic Weapons System (SWS) Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Configuration based in Barrow-in-Furness. Joining our team as a Configuration Management Engineer, you will become an integral part of a Ministry of Defence (MOD) team responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining a PLM process for the SWS on the Dreadnought Class submarines that are currently under construction in Barrow-In-Furness. This will provide pivotal SWS lifecycle management during transition into service and continued support to the National Deterrent when the submarine enters operational service. You will be provided with bespoke SWS and PLM training to strengthen skills and enable a thorough understanding of the technical systems, internal processes and PLM requirements. The role will require regular travel to UK and US sites. This role benefits from the option of either 9/75 or 4xFlex working patterns offering a 4 day week or 9 day fortnight depending on your preference (days may vary depending on business needs) SWS and/or PLM experience is not essential, however would add value to your application The successful candidate must achieve the appropriate level (DV) of security clearance. More details can be found here Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline Expreince as a Configuration Engineer or similar Engineering role Background in configuration or technical documentation processes Strong attention to detail with technical data and engineering drawings An analytical, structured, and thorough approach to issue identification and resolution The ability to take ownership of tasks as delegated, and drive them through to successful conclusion under agreed deadline An understanding of the requirement to adhere to applicable documentation within a highly prescriptive environment Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Software Desired Skills SWS (Strategic Weapons System) Experience with PLM software (Teamcenter or Windchill) Expereince within the defence sector or similar regulated or safety critical environment
