The Opportunity

We are seeking a Mid-Level Real Estate Credit Risk Analyst to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of credit strategies for Mortgage and Home Equity portfolios. This role uses quantitative analysis to identify credit risk, optimize profitable growth within established risk appetite, and monitor portfolio performance trends. The analyst will evaluate internal and external factors affecting portfolio results, identify root causes of changes in key performance metrics, and recommend data-driven underwriting and account management strategies to improve portfolio performance while mitigating operational and compliance risk. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in SAS and SQL , along with experience using automation tools such as VS Code and Python to analyze and communicate insights. Candidates should have experience managing consumer credit risk, recommending strategy changes for originations and existing accounts, and estimating probability of default, loss given default, and risk adjusted return. Success in this role requires the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations and effectively present findings and strategic insights to executive-level audiences. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do

Applies industry leading practices and analytical skills to identify risks and opportunities within the managed portfolio and translates results into strategic solutions with the delivery of credit risk strategies. Applies critical thinking skills to synthesize analyses, identify root causes, and develop clear and concise recommendations to drive credit risk strategy development and influence senior decision makers. Assists in delivering Bank credit risk strategies across lines of defense by effectively driving analytical projects through analysis of data and processes and clearly communicating insights/recommendations to key stakeholders and leadership Applies industry knowledge and competitive benchmarking to inform credit strategy development. Utilizes quantitative analysis based upon internal and external data sources to bring structure and clarity to challenging problems. Develops and presents comprehensive risk and financial reporting in support of senior management and committee oversight of existing and emerging risks and escalates the quality and direction of credit performance to appropriate levels of management. Performs complex financial risk sensitivity analysis. Creates requirements to support the management of credit strategy infrastructure and ensures credit strategies are implemented as intended. Applies programming and analytical techniques to analyze credit data. Provides support for junior team members regarding analytics and risk management. Collaborates with key stakeholders to guide & facilitate teams in the development and implementation of key initiatives.
