Job Summary Ohmstede Ltd. is in search of a Bundle Shop Foreman to lead day-to-day operations of the bundle shop, overseeing personnel, equipment, and production activities related to the assembly, repair, and testing of shell and tube heat exchanger bundles. This role is responsible for executing the production schedule, maintaining quality and safety standards, and driving crew performance through direct, hands-on leadership.
This position requires a working foreman mindset—actively involved in the work while leading the crew to meet schedule, quality, and safety targets. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Direct and execute daily bundle shop operations, including
Bundle assembly Tube loading, expanding/rolling, and welding Bundle insertion, exchanger assembly, prep for shipment, and hydrostatic testing
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with drawings, manufacturing procedures, and work instructions. Maintain a safe working environment and enforce all safety policies and procedures Ensure lifting and safety equipment is routinely inspected and fit for service. Monitor and ensure compliance with inspection test plan and code quality manual. Drive production to meet schedule commitments and customer deadlines. Plan and assign manpower daily based on production needs. Coordinate labor, materials and equipment to maintain workflow continuity Lead and supervise shop personal to meet productivity and performance expectations Accomplishes product assembly by supervising employees, planning, organizing and monitoring workflow.

Leadership & Team Development
Supervise, train, and mentor shop personnel Set expectations for performance, quality, safety Address performance issues and drive accountability across the crew Promote a team-oriented, results-driven work environment
Production Management
Monitor job progress and adjust manpower/resources to meet schedule. Identify and remove production bottlenecks Coordinate with machine shop, weld shop, QC, and receiving Ensure efficient use of labor hours and shop resources
Quality Control
Verify workmanship at critical steps Coordinate with QC/Inspection for hold points and testing Minimize rework through proactive oversight
Safety & Compliance
Conduct Job briefings and ensure hazard awareness Enforce PPE and safe work practices Ensure compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
Documentation and Reporting
Track job status and report progress to management Initiate Engineering Change Requests for clarification or missing documents Support labor tracking and job-hour accountability Assist with required documentation for production, safety, and personnel matters
Qualifications Skills Preferred:
Strong understanding of
Shell & Tube heat exchanger construction and repair Shop processes across machine, weld, and assembly operations
Familiarity with ASME and TEMA requirements Ability to troubleshoot fit-up, alignment, and fabrication issues in real time Computer skills, specifically the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent Trade school, technical training, or apprenticeship preferred (welding, machining, or fabrication)
Experience
5+ years of experience in heat exchanger manufacturing, repair, or similar heavy fabrication environment 2+ years of supervisory or foreman-level experience in a shop setting Hands-on experience with:
Bundle assembly and disassembly Tube installation and expansion/rolling Structural welding and fit-up coordination Hydrotesting and final assembly
