Job Description
As an Enterprise Services Infrastructure Engineer, your role involves active contribution to the team, supporting, implementing, and optimizing critical IT infrastructure. You'll engage in hands-on work with cloud platforms, manage virtualization infrastructure, and oversee Windows Server environments. This role includes operational support, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement projects that support scalable system designs, solutions, and policies, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, and administer various software systems within the portfolio. Core Duties and Responsibilities: Implement and manage enterprise cloud infrastructure, optimizing performance, cost, and scalability, ensuring compliance with security measures, and automating tasks for efficient management. Oversee daily operations of the VMware virtualization infrastructure, managing ESXi hosts, vCenter, and related components, with in-depth knowledge of VMware ESX fundamentals. Configure virtual machines, templates, clusters, and storage within the VMware environment, including the design and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure or AVD. Install, configure, and manage Windows Server operating systems, handling updates, patches, and security configurations. Design and administer critical Windows Server services such as Active Directory and Group Policy, while monitoring and optimizing system performance to ensure reliability and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate cloud, VMware, and Windows Server technologies working closely with engineers, administrators, and developers to troubleshoot and optimize system performance, providing technical expertise and guidance for successful system integration and collaboration. Develop and maintain relevant documentation for enterprise infrastructure utilizing the ServiceNow platform to assist with daily operations and requests. Ensure continuous operational uptime and optimal performance by actively collaborating with teams, troubleshooting issues, and improving service effectiveness. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Minimum of five years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience. Additional Qualifications and Skills: Proficient in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), VMware virtualization, and Windows Server operating systems. Familiarity with automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Ansible. Relevant certifications like, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server are a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to evolving technologies and priorities. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and cultivate strong relationships and work effectively with diverse groups.
