An excellent opportunity to develop in one of Corning Incorporated's key engineering organizations supporting deployment of new, innovative and challenging technologies. Member of Melting design team responsible for the detailed design of Display Technologies Melting Process Equipment. This includes design support for repairs, expansions and technology improvements to the existing platforms. Project support for the key initiatives for the division. Focus will be on implementation of robust, cost-effective process machine systems in Corning’s manufacturing plants. Developing scope of work documents for suppliers for quotes, purchase orders, and repairs. Supporting the fabrication, test runs and acceptance of equipment at the supplier. Technical support for Melting Design Reviews, Potential Problem Analysis reviews as well as the everyday design issues common within the department. Key Responsibilities
Work with experienced Engineers to complete process equipment design and drawing details. Evaluating the viability of incoming design changes Actively participating in design reviews, risk mitigation meetings, system interference reviews. Reporting to supervision of issues, decisions, and trial results Interacting with domestic and international operation sites and our Science and Technology Division Adherence to department drawing and file standards. Following Intellectual Asset Protection procedures and standards. Experiences/Education - Required
AAS Mechanical Technology or equivalent discipline Entry Level Position Experience with 3D CAD software Knowledge of standard machining processes Ability to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks with supervision Fluent in English Experiences/Education - Desired
Solidworks CAD software proficiency 2D CAD proficiency (AutoCAD preferred) Some Familiarity with EPDM for document management Strong verbal and written communication skills Microsoft Office software proficiency (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Successful experience working in a diverse team environment Flexible and adaptable Self starter
