Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Mechanism Manufacturing Engineer in Kennedy Space Center, Florida to plan and author procedures for the Orion Spacecraft Elements Team and provide floor support for Mechanical and Electrical Integration environments. The applicant will perform specific duties to include, but are not limited to: • Performs various duties including creating and/or developing mechanical manufacturing work instructions. • Determines the sequence of build, selecting or designing required tools, and solves production problems during the build of mechanical piece parts and assemblies. • Assists in investigating design/manufacturing factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, and large assembly management. • Develops and maintains all assembly documentation. • Troubleshoot/correct anomalies and discrepant hardware. • Performs producibility reviews on engineering designs/drawings to assess manufacturability, ease of assembly, and material availability. • Routinely interfaces with program personnel and reports project status to leadership. • Ability to work Sunday through Thursday is required for this role. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical/Aerospace/ Electrical/Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred) • Knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes. • Experienced in the review of engineering drawings. • Strong written communication including technical writing. • Ability to read, analyze and
