RGA Enterprise Services Company (RGA) seeks an Actuary, Americas Risk Management to develop mortality and morbidity research for RGA’s Americas region by providing critical actuarial expertise into population mortality and morbidity trends and insurance implications for key stakeholders, including management, pricing teams, valuation teams, risk teams, and clients. This position will: provide guidance and recommendations on future population and insured mortality and morbidity views; lead mortality and morbidity research across Americas business units through management of appropriate committees and working groups; coordinate collaboration on mortality and morbidity insights across Americas business units through regular communications; monitor population mortality and morbidity trends, review new studies, and educate stakeholders on insights; develop mortality improvement assumption and post-pandemic excess claims guidance for Americas business units; serve as an expert through internal presentations, client meetings, industry meetings, and external thought leadership; lead projects on current and emerging topics of interest to RGA or clients, including mortality and morbidity research, industry studies, third party data insights, statistical analysis, and data analytics; foster and energize positive collaboration with key stakeholders, such as pricing, business development, underwriting, global data analytics, global risk, and external clients, etc.; and participate in special projects, committees, meetings and client presentations as required. The position reports to RGA headquarters in Chesterfield, MO. A qualified applicant must reside within commuting distance of the Chesterfield, MO office, as occasional on-site work is required. Telecommuting is permitted for approximately 60% of the work week. RGA’s compensation package includes an annual bonus plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits. The compensation range noted below indicates that the base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. For this particular position, the offered salary is $156,374.00 to $175,000.00 and is non-negotiable.

Basic Qualifications

The position of Actuary, Americas Risk Management requires a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, or a related field. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. The position also requires seven (7) years of actuarial experience in life insurance and/or reinsurance. A qualified applicant’s experience must include the following skills: 1. Experience leading mortality and morbidity research using statistical analysis and data analytics, including, but not limited to, population trend analysis; 2. Experience managing cross-functional teams and liaising with individuals across a variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines to ensure projects are driven to conclusion; 3. Experience developing and validating complex actuarial and statistical models and interpreting and deriving valuable insights from large datasets using advanced statistical techniques; 4. Experience presenting and/or communicating complex actuarial and statistical analyses to technical and non-technical internal and external stakeholders in a way that is meaningful and well received by the specific audience; 5. Experience independently learning and using data
