About this role
Amazon's Global Tax department provides tax controllership and single-threaded business support across key tax functions. Within Global Tax, the Tax Finance team delivers financial and controllership services — FP&A, Procure-to-Pay (P2P), vendor management, and cross-organizational programs. We are looking for a Program Manager to join Tax Finance and own the end-to-end design and execution of programs that ensure our procurement, vendor contracting, and reporting mechanisms run accurately and at speed — leveraging AI tools to scale. The Program Manager will work across Tax Finance, Legal, Accounting, and Tax Managers to drive the Procure-to-Pay lifecycle — New Matter Requests, Budget Adjustment Requests, Work Orders, and Tax Order Forms — and to manage the SIM / Contract Central / DocuSign contracting workflow. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in ambiguity, communicates crisply, influences without authority across a broad stakeholder set, and has a bias for eliminating unnecessary process while raising the bar on controllership. Key job responsibilities ● Own day-to-day execution of one or more Tax Finance program areas (Procure-to-Pay intake, contract lifecycle management, vendor management), delivering to defined SLAs. ● Drive the P2P process end-to-end in partnership with Tax Managers, Legal, Global Procurement, and tech teams — ensuring it is streamlined, compliant with internal policies, and audit-ready. ● Own contract stewardship across the Global Tax department, including SIM / Contract Central / DocuSign workflows. ● Own the weekly status report and other recurring Tax Finance controllership mechanisms — producing clear narratives and socializing them with Tax leadership. ● Build and maintain SOPs, wikis, FAQs, and training materials; deliver training to Tax matter owners and Tax Finance stakeholders on prioritization, intake, and contracting. ● Identify and drive continuous improvement — simplify or eliminate excess process, unblock delivery, reduce cycle time, and improve controllership signal, including through the deployment of AI tooling. ● Communicate program status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to Tax Finance leadership (up to Director / VP) in writing (narratives, weekly reports, PR/FAQs) and in meetings. ● Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Legal, Global Procurement, Tax Ops, Accounting, HR/Recruiting, and Tax matter owners) to align priorities and drive timely decisions.
