Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Principal/Sr. Principal Production Operations based out of Sunnyvale, CA . The Principal/Sr. Principal Production Operations leads and directs one or more project teams in the professional services arena. Prepares project execution plan and coordinates activities between client and company personnel. Monitors project completion from initiation through delivery to meet revenue and cost projections. Oversees performance of projects or engagements and typically utilizes management skills more than technical skills. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team(s). Working under an Operations Program Manager and with manufacturing operations functional management, you will be part of the team responsible for the execution of the manufacturing scope of a multi-million dollar naval production program. In this role, you will help guide and lead the manufacturing team by ensuring manufacturing issues and roadblocks are resolved quickly, and that the manufacturing program(s) perform on time and on budget. You will be a key point of contact within manufacturing for the program. What you will get to do: Resolve manufacturing issues by working with cross-functional teams. Coordinate responses with functional organizations to keep projects on schedule. Propose, plan/baseline, and execute to the performance management baseline. Perform risk and opportunity management functions for the manufacturing scope in concert with the overall program RSKOM. Perform EVMS and cost account management functions. Resolve material, manpower, and machine issues to ensure successful manufacturing performance. Travel as required (generally less than 10%). This position may be filled at a level 3 (Principal) or level 4 (Sr. Principal) depending on candidate experience. Basic Qualifications for a Principal Production Operations: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; OR a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience using ERP systems. Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Production Operations: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience; OR a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience using ERP systems. Ability to obtain U.S. Government Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications for a Principal / Sr. Principal Production Operations: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Program and/or Project Management. Experience working on government contracts. 3 or more years of experience in Earned Value Management. Experience with manufacturing production proposals.
