The Senior Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a team of Quality Inspectors across three shifts. This role ensures that products, processes, and inspection activities consistently meet customer, regulatory, engineering, and company quality requirements. The Senior Quality Supervisor provides hands-on leadership, drives quality performance and continuous improvement, and serves as a key liaison between Quality, Materials, Operations & Engineering. This role is onsite in San Marcos, Texas.
What You Will Do
Establish clear expectations for inspection accuracy, productivity, attendance, safety, and adherence to quality procedures. Ensure inspection activities comply with AS9100, FAA requirements, customer specifications, engineering drawings, and applicable aerospace standards. Oversee receiving, in-process, final, first article, and source inspection activities as applicable. Ensure inspectors are properly trained and qualified in the use of inspection methods, tools, equipment, drawings, specifications, and applicable quality procedures. Lead or support investigations involving nonconforming material, escapes, customer complaints, and internal quality issues. Support root-cause analysis, corrective action, CAPA, 8D, and continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate quality priorities and staffing across all three shifts to ensure consistent standards and effective handoffs. Conduct regular shift meetings and communicate quality performance, issues, priorities, and expectations to inspection personnel and leadership. Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings. Drive standardization of inspection practices across all shifts and eliminate variation between inspectors and work centers. Address employee performance issues, provide coaching, conduct performance reviews, and recognize high-performing team members. Travel up to 20%.
Qualifications
You Must Have: Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience Minimum 2 years of experience leading people. Strong knowledge in AS9100 and aerospace regulatory requirements. Experience with GD&T, engineering drawing and manufacturing processes. Demonstrated experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
