Who w e’re l ooking f or Toyota’s Privacy & Governance Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Privacy Governance Manager . Reporting to and working closely with the Privacy & Governance Senior Manager, this role is a hands-on people manager responsible for managing privacy operations, overseeing data subject requests, platform compliance, and ensuring regulatory alignment across systems and consumer interactions. This position is based in Plano, Texas. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location. What y ou’ll b e d oing Lead a team of direct reports, nurturing their development, their performance within the team and their workload. Work with the Senior Manager to set operational direction as well as technical and business requirements for platforms to meet evolving privacy standards and regulatory requirements. Make decisions on the onboarding/offboarding of systems. Evaluate scope, risk, and priority for new platforms or technology integrations by reviewing onboarding criteria and ensuring that they align with privacy standards. Decide on the appropriate response and escalation path for privacy-related consumer complaints or issues, balancing compliance with customer satisfaction. Own the allocation of team resources and the engagement of external contractors to meet privacy compliance needs effectively, especially during high-demand periods. What y ou b ring Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Law, Business, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Extensive experience in privacy, compliance, or data protection roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management position. Solid understanding of privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Experience managing cross-functional teams and/or vendors. Added b onus i f y ou h ave Experience working with connected technologies or vehicle data is a strong plus. CIPP certification or commitment to obtain certification within 6 months .
