About this role

New Winter 2027 Systems Engineer Co-op Quincy, Massachusetts, United States Apply Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. ABOUT THE JOB We are looking for a Systems Engineer Co-op to join our rapidly growing team. In this role, you'll get hands-on exposure to how Anduril develops technical strategy and executes complex, integrated hardware and software programs — from pre-award demonstrations through early contract phases and full execution. You'll support a multi-disciplinary engineering team working toward efficient development and delivery of solutions for our customers. You'll gain exposure to how systems engineering spans company boundaries in an agile, CI/CD-oriented development approach, balancing the development of new capabilities with the integration of existing Anduril technologies. You'll also see firsthand how technical status gets communicated to customers and leadership throughout a program's lifecycle. Systems Engineering at Anduril touches every phase of program execution — from proposals through design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR), qualification testing, and delivery — and spans disciplines including mechanical, thermal, structural, electrical, software, firmware, GNC, reliability, and manufacturing (integration and test). A strong Systems Engineer Co-op is someone who's technically curious across disciplines and eager to learn how these pieces fit together across a program's full lifecycle. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will own one or more scoped projects end to end, with mentor support, over the engagement. Candidate projects include:

Trade study support — Perform a system-level trade study balancing risk, cost, and performance for a defined design decision. Deliverable: trade study writeup and recommendation reviewed by the engineering team.

Requirements decomposition exercise — Take a defined complex system requirement and decompose it into executable sub-requirements, under mentor guidance. Deliverable: requirements decomposition document validated against an existing design.

Design review support — Prepare supporting technical materials for an upcoming design review (SRR, PDR, or CDR) for a defined subsystem. Deliverable: review package contribution and follow-up action summary.

Test planning support — Support the development of qualification or acceptance test requirements and pass/fail criteria for a defined component, including coordination with a vendor or subsystem owner. Deliverable: test plan contribution and results summary.

Cross-disciplinary integration project — Work with engineers across two or more disciplines (e.g., mechanical and software) to support integration of a defined subsystem. Deliverable: integrated subsystem passing checkout, plus a summary of cross-team tradeoffs.

Technical briefing development — Support the development of a technical briefing or status update communicating program progress to internal stakeholders. Deliverable: reviewed briefing materials used in an actual program review.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Must be returning to school at the end of the co-op to continue academic studies for at least one quarter

Listing verified 3h ago. Applications go through the company's official careers site.
