About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director – Network Tools & Observability Platforms. The role is within the Secure Network Services (SNS) organization. This leadership role is responsible for defining and executing the strategy, engineering roadmap, and operational excellence of enterprise network tooling and observability platforms that enable monitoring, automation, service assurance, and operational resilience across the global network infrastructure. SNS Network Reliability Engineering- Tools function has evolved into a critical strategic capability within Cyber Security organization, providing network observability, security monitoring , configuration management, telemetry, performance management, and operational analytics solutions. This leader will drive modernization of network observability platforms, enable AI-driven operations, advance automation capabilities, and oversee critical transformation programs that improve network reliability, operational efficiency, and customer experience. The successful candidate will lead teams responsible for the lifecycle management of network tools and observability platforms, including architecture, engineering, modernization, integration, compliance, security, and operational support. This role will partner closely with Network Operations, Product Engineering, Cyber Security, Automation & Innovation, and Enterprise Observability teams to deliver enterprise-wide outcomes while ensuring future readiness of network management and observability capabilities. In this role, you will: Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers Identify financial management and strategic resourcing Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers Lead team to achieve objectives Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy Lead and develop a global organization of engineering managers, software engineers, platform engineers, and observability SMEs. Define and execute the strategy and roadmap for Network Tools, Observability, Service Assurance, and Operational Intelligence platforms across Secure Network Services. Drive the adoption of AI-enabled observability, automation, and advanced analytics to transform Network and Security operations and improve reliability, resilience, and user experience. Lead the architecture, modernization, integration, and lifecycle management of enterprise network management and observability platforms. Establish scalable telemetry, analytics, and data platform capabilities that enable end-to-end visibility across a complex multi-vendor infrastructure environment. Partner across Network Engineering, Operations, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Innovation, and Enterprise Observability teams to deliver strategic outcomes and operational excellence. Sponsor key transformation initiatives including fault management modernization, synthetic monitoring, predictive analytics, network health dashboards, and platform consolidations.
