Job Summary [Position] NetApp seeks a highly resourceful, self-driven individual with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to serve as the Head of Corporate Planning (IC) to the VP, Sales. The focus of the role will be to shape and drive NetApp’s growth strategy through rigorous market analysis, strategic planning, and clear, compelling strategic messaging. The role acts as a strategic partner to the VP, Sales Japan, translating market insights and corporate priorities into actionable strategies that enable sustainable business growth and enterprise value creation. As an applicant for this role, you must have prior experience and solid credentials in corporate planning, business development, strategy consulting, or an equivalent role supporting GTM executives. You display sound business judgment, structured problem solving, proactiveness, and tactical prowess. You excel at anticipating needs rather than waiting for direction, and you can effectively juggle multiple priorities across stakeholders in Product, Sales, Customer Success, Sales Ops, Finance, and Comms. You will report directly to the VP, Sales and partner closely with teams across the Sales organization. You bring a collaborative, service-oriented mindset and the skills to comfortably work with multiple stakeholders—from C-suite to field teams. [Key Responsibilities] 1. Corporate Strategy & Business Planning -Lead the development of annual business plans aligned with corporate vision and growth objectives. -Define strategic priorities, investment focus areas, and success metrics (KPIs) -Monitor execution progress and adjust strategies based on performance and market changes. -Support executive decision-making through structured analysis and recommendations. 2. BDM Market Analysis & Growth Opportunity Identification -Conduct comprehensive market analysis, growth trends and competitive landscape. -Identify and prioritize target customer segments, industries, and use cases based on strategic fit and revenue potential. -Analyze customer pain points, buying behaviors, and decision-making dynamics -Assess new business opportunities, partnerships, and go-to-market options. -Provide clear go/no-go recommendations for new initiatives and investments 3. Strategic Messaging & Storytelling -Translate complex market data and strategic analysis into clear, compelling strategic narratives. -Develop executive-level strategy messages for VP, Sales, internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams -Ensure consistency of “Why Now / Where to Play / How to Win” across the organization. -Support leadership communications related to strategy, transformation, and growth initiatives. 4. Cross-Functional & Enterprise Projects -Support strategic projects such as business transformation, new business launches, and organizational initiatives through analysis, planning, and cross-functional coordination. -Align global and local strategies in collaboration with head quarter and regional team. 5. Governance & Leadership Support -Prepare materials and analysis for QBR and leadership meetings. -Support governance related processes by structuring key agenda items and decision points. -Ensure confidentiality, integrity and sound judgement in all leadership level activities. Job Requirements [Key Qualifications] •15+ years of experience in corporate planning, business development, strategy consulting, or related roles. •Strong experience in market analysis, growth strategy development, and executive-level reporting. •Proven ability to translate data and insights into actionable business strategies. •Solid understanding of financial analysis, business metrics, and ROI evaluation. •High level of integrity and professionalism; proven ability to build trust and credibility with executive-level stakeholders. •Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities. •Fluent in English and Japanese
