Software Engineer

With limited oversight, implements well-defined technical problems or solutions. With knowledge of general programming languages, frameworks and deployment methodologies, creates API-based applications from concept to finished product with a cloud-first emphasis. Principle Duties: Designs, develops, tests, deploys and supports API-based systems focusing on industry best practices with a cloud-first emphasis. Manages individual tasks and timelines under limited supervision. Seeks continuous quality improvements for supported systems Assists in problem analysis and submits recommendations when appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) of Computer Science or equivalent experience Required Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) Preferred Work Experience: 1+ Years of software development experience. Required Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies Required Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in multiple tools of the full stack covering frontend frameworks, databases and deployments Required Experience with a variety of general programming languages Required Ability to solve moderately complex problems, drawing upon technical experience, precedents, and judgement Required Strong communication skills, including ability to explain complex information in straightforward situations Required Experience with a variety of database technologies Required JavaScript/Java/Groovy/Go/C#/.Net/Python Preferred Docker/Kubernetes Preferred Insurance and/or reinsurance industry knowledge Preferred What you can expect from RGA: Gain valuable knowledge from and experience with diverse, caring colleagues around the world. Range: $78,080.00 - $110,860.00 Annual Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan.
