Overview
Responsible for capturing design architecture, electrical schematics, operational diagrams, and detailed technical documentation, including written and verbal descriptions, to ensure electrical designs meet defined requirements and specifications. Must perform electrical testing and should possess strong knowledge on using test equipment, troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution throughout the product development lifecycle. Development and preparation of test articles, test fixtures, wire harnesses, and representative loads required for design verification, qualification, validation, and production activities as required. Key Responsibilities & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering. Demonstrated working knowledge of Analog, Digital, and Mixed-Signal circuit design and analysis. Perform component selection and evaluation of alternate components for circuit modules, including technical trade-off analysis based on performance, cost, availability, reliability, and lifecycle. Develop and implement practical solutions to electrical and electronic design challenges with guidance from senior engineers where required. Perform conceptual studies, design calculations, and technical feasibility assessments to support product development. Perform circuit simulation and analysis using SPICE-based circuit simulators and appropriate device models. Capture and review electrical schematics and provide PCB layout engineers with component placement, routing, grounding, and power-distribution recommendations. Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve electrical design and hardware issues. Prepare and maintain design documentation, test procedures, verification procedures, and cable/harness diagrams. Perform board bring-up, hardware debugging, and board-level verification testing. Set up electrical test environments and demonstrate hands-on experience using laboratory equipment such as programmable power supplies, function generators, digital multimeters (DMMs), digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs), and electronic loads. Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Cost (DFC), Design for Quality (DFQ), and Design for Certification (DFC) principles during the design and development process. Support design reviews, verification activities, qualification testing, and troubleshooting throughout the product development lifecycle. Demonstrate good verbal and written communication, teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Technical Experience & Core Competencies 4-6 years of experience in the design and development of complex Analog, Digital, and Mixed-Signal electronic systems. Experience in requirements capture, architecture diagram, worst-case analysis, design documentation. Experience in working with interfaces like I2C, SPI, SRAM, CAN, ARINC 429, ARINC 664, EBI interface, 10/100/1000 Ethernet, UART and RS422/R485.
