Job Description
The Opportunity Consultants team is responsible to directly support pursuit and Sales teams in the account strategy, financial evaluation, risk assessment, pricing and Terms/Conditions negotiation required to win large profitable engagements, with strong focus on as-a-Service opportunities.

Consultants are expected to maintain independence in all financial matters related to the engagements and ensure that approvers have a full and open view of the relevant facts & assumptions underlying the financial plan.

Consultant partners with the businesses to ensure that the aaS strategies are operationally supported and strategically focused to secure the greatest return on investment for the global company, Gathers financial data and performs financial analyses and reporting (e.g., profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow etc.) to influence decisions within the business, Communicates and drives adherence to accounting principles and the organization's financial goals and policies, has the fiduciary responsibility to represent financial results correctly both internally and externally and ensures strong business controls Responsibilities: Review deal structure & pricing for Greenlake (as a Service), Advisory and Professional Consulting and Custom Support opportunities Evaluate assumptions and analyze opportunities against HPE Accounting Standards to form pricing strategy Analyze cost structures and optimize internal and external levers to improve HPE’s ability to win Partner with Sales & Pursuit team in deal shaping, and perform pricing simulations for Customers Create, Evaluate and Present HPE P&L for deal approvals Financial advisor for presales / sales / account team Assess and quantify risk, suggest plans to mitigate risks Consult and provide required documentation to support the approval (OBR) process Interact with Senior Executives (Sales and Finance) during deal pursuit and play active role in decision making Establish positive working relationships with the Pursuit and other functional teams, to get the best understanding of the existing cost structure possible Work with Compliance/Revenue Recognition Office/Tax /Operations teams to address risks in solutions and propose mitigations Lead the transformation efforts on as a Service pricing execution Education and Experience Required: First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) preferred. 6+ years experience Typically experienced in more than one finance function Previous experience in pricing is required Previous experience partnering with senior leadership is required Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of HPE’s business portfolio Strong understanding of revenue recognition policy or experienced in negotiating Contracting practices and government regulations preferred Excellent analytical skills Excellent business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel) Excellent communication and executive influencing skills Great at teamwork Good project
