Provides technical and people leadership while driving mission success.

Include: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, including staffing, onboarding, performance management, and career development. Assign and prioritize work in alignment with program objectives, Agile sprint planning, and team capacity. Provide technical leadership for software design, development, integration, and test supporting spacecraft subsystems. Guide resolution of complex software and system integration issues across hardware-software interfaces. Ensure adherence to software engineering standards, processes, and practices throughout the development lifecycle. Lead execution to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives across software deliverables. Communicate program status, technical risks, and issues to program, functional, and senior leadership, including customer-facing communication when required. Support proposal development, resource planning, and cost estimation activities. Drive continuous improvement in software development processes, tools, and automation.   The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Manages software development activities. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the design, development, documentation, and testing of software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Ensures software standards are met. Basic Qualifications 
 Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. 5+ years of professional experience in software development, integration, or test across the full software development lifecycle. Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies. Experience supporting software integration and system-level testing in complex environments. Demonstrated project or team leadership experience with responsibility for technical, schedule, and cost performance. U.S. Citizenship required due to work location. Desired Skills
