As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Banking Data Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Minimum 10 years of hands-on Java/SpringBoot/Kafka/Flink/AWS/EKS environment that demonstrates exceptional design, coding, testing and debugging skills Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Advanced in one or more programming language(s) and framework(s) (i.e., Java, Spring framework, Kafka Streams, Flink, Data Lake & Low Latency stores) Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems Practical cloud native experience Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Apache Flink, Kafka and Confluent Cloud Experience working with Petabyte scale environments and streaming billions of events per day Advanced knowledge AWS and EKS
