Start here. Grow here. AECOM is looking for a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Buildings + Engineering team in Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of innovative mechanical building services solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects, including healthcare facilities, education campuses, railway stations, and mission-critical data centres. Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will support the design and delivery of complex engineering projects while working closely with senior engineers, architects, contractors, and clients. You'll play an important role in developing sustainable, high-performing building services solutions and contribute to the continued success of our Building Services team in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects across the healthcare, education, transport, and data centre sectors. Produce mechanical engineering designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation to a high standard. Coordinate with electrical, structural, civil, architectural, and specialist engineering disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions. Develop energy-efficient and sustainable mechanical building services designs, including HVAC, public health, heating, and cooling systems. Ensure designs comply with Irish Building Regulations, relevant British and European Standards, CIBSE guidance, and project requirements. Support project delivery by assisting with programme management, technical coordination, and client communications. Attend design team meetings, site visits, and inspections as required during project delivery. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and deliver successful project outcomes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share technical knowledge across the Building Services team. Support graduate engineers and work collaboratively within the wider engineering team.
Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what's possible? Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience working within a building services consultancy environment, delivering mechanical design solutions across a range of sectors. Knowledge of Irish and UK building regulations, standards, and mechanical building services design practices. Proficiency in industry-standard mechanical design software and BIM platforms, including Revit. Understanding of HVAC, public health, low-carbon, and sustainable building services systems. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and client-facing skills. Ability to work
