Senior Software Engineer, YouTube Live, Creator Platform

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. In this role, you will be contributing to the entire technical stack and building a scalable creator platform that enables a reliable robust third-party YouTube Live creating ecosystem. Own and operate a Live control room, and scale its architecture to support multiple client teams. Lead and coach the newly created live team in Bengaluru. Work closely with cross-functional leaders in Bengaluru and San Bruno (SBO) to develop modern and reliable live streaming features. Scale third-party Application Programming Interface's (API's) to help better scale and support third-party ecosystems.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience with mobile applications and back-end services software service development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Flutter, iOS, Android). 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. Experience with full stack, client and front-end engineering and experience leading consumer-facing product development, ideally in video.
