Our Airborne RF Electronics Design Department has an immediate need for a Principal Electrical Engineer to provide senior‑level radar/RF hardware leadership across production, system integration, and sustainment environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands‑on CCA/LRA hardware expertise, strong radar/RF engineering proficiency, and demonstrated ability to lead complex investigations and mentor technical teams. This role is critical to maintaining technical rigor, ensuring hardware performance through production, and strengthening execution across a diverse radar hardware portfolio. The position requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and leadership, and includes periodic travel to Forest, MS in support of production troubleshooting and supplier engagement. The role resides within the Surveillance & Tactical Radar Support section supporting Terrain Following Radar (TFR) products at Raytheon’s McKinney, TX facility.
What You Will Do
Serve as a senior Radar/RF hardware technical leader, providing authoritative direction across production, system integration, and sustainment activities. Lead tough hardware investigations, driving thorough root‑cause resolution and safeguarding hardware performance, reliability, and readiness for production. Perform hands‑on CCA/LRA test, troubleshooting, and production support, including updates to test procedures and support for engineering change notices (ECNs). Travel to Forest, MS as required. Shape and influence engineering requirements, specifications, and design improvements—internally and with suppliers—to maintain requirement integrity and mitigate technical risk. Communicate issues, risks, and recommended actions clearly to engineering leadership, customers, and suppliers. Provide mentorship and technical elevation to hardware engineering teams, delegating tasks effectively and influencing overall team performance. Apply advanced expertise in radar systems, RF simulation tools, and subsystem‑level testing to support troubleshooting and drive system‑level cohesion.

Qualifications
You Must Have: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) 8+ years of experience in radar systems/RF engineering Experience with CCA- and LRA‑level electrical hardware design and troubleshooting experience.
