Job Description
The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic advisor and execution partner to the Data Center Engineering leader within HPE Networking. The role translates business and engineering priorities into a clear operating agenda, drives alignment across product, architecture, operations, finance, and people teams, and ensures disciplined follow-through on the organization’s most critical commitments. This leader brings structure to complex decisions, surfaces risks and tradeoffs, and enables the Engineering leadership team to operate with greater speed, focus, and accountability. Core Accountabilities Strategy and execution: Convert Data Center Engineering priorities into measurable plans, milestones, decision points, and operating rhythms. Leadership effectiveness: Shape agendas, prepare executive briefings, facilitate decisions, and track commitments across the leadership team. Cross-functional alignment: Connect engineering plans with product strategy, customer commitments, financial objectives, workforce priorities, and BU dependencies. Business visibility: Develop concise insights on progress, capacity, investment choices, organizational health, and delivery risks for senior leaders. Special initiatives: Lead high-impact, ambiguous work on behalf of the Engineering leader, particularly where ownership spans multiple functions or teams.
Education and Experience
Required Management consulting experience highly desired. Prior corporate leadership. Achieved planned financial results at an organizational level. Acted as a senior executive in a global company responsible for operational efficiency. Exercised leadership on external business or industry boards. 12+ years total experience. MBA highly desired, or advanced university degree. Bachelors degree required. Knowledge and Skills Strategic Planning & Implementation: Orchestrates the development of strategic plans that reflects the company's business strategy to advance market share/penetration and achieve profitable growth. Budget Management & Cost Optimization: Establishes tracks and enforces spending parameters to protect the company's business and assets, and ensures their effective engagement. P&L Management: Sets and manages the business investments and resource allocations essential to ensuring the financial growth & health of the corporation. Vertical Industry Acumen: Develops and exercises a profound understanding of business dynamics within area of control, as a basis for informed business decision making. Workforce Planning: Builds acquisition and development strategies targeted to ensuring workforce readiness, and market opportunity responsiveness. Execution Management: Collaborates effectively with the company's BUs and value chain partners to ensure operational responsiveness to challenges, and alignment with business imperatives C-Level Partnering: Contributes to enduring executive relationships that establish the company's consultative professionalism and promotes its total solution capabilities at the highest levels of an organization. Business and
