What You Will Do
The Sensor Applications Engineering discipline seeks talented Engineers. Our team located in Middletown, CT provides a wide variety of instrumentation related support including the creation of installation drawings, sensor calibration, and support for data recording. The sensor engineer will work closely with each CIPT (Component Integrated Product Team) to ensure their instrumentation requirements are understood and fully realized in the final delivered test product. Close alignment is ensured with both the assembly and test teams by the sensor engineer who assists in coordinating schedule and supporting the assembly of every instrumented part to the test asset. Sensor Application Engineers works collaboratively across organizations to provide quality instrumentation and testing solutions for dozens of gas-turbine tests a year for all of Pratt and Whitney’s engine programs. In this role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts. You will present findings and solutions to Leadership and/or Customers. Responsibilities may include working on tasks related to commercial engines, military engines or both depending on business need. May be required to obtain a security clearance. Development Operations (DO) is part of the Engineering Organization within Pratt & Whitney (P&W). DO is responsible for the planning and test execution of development jet engine systems. DO is comprised of the disciplines needed to test P&W engines. This position is located in our Middletown, CT facility. This position in DO is part of the Engineering Development Program at Pratt & Whitney.
What You Will Learn
Candidates hired will begin their first 2.5 years at Pratt & Whitney as part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP). This program consists of three rotations that are 12 months - 9 months - 9 months in duration and typically occur in three distinct disciplines within the hiring department. The intent of our EDP is to offer breadth & depth in various technical experiences through challenging positions available in our organizations. This program will help expand your professional and technical competencies that will serve as the foundation for exceptional contributions that you will make at Pratt & Whitney. Upon their 2-year graduation, they will return to their hiring department (1st rotation) for at least 1 year. The intent of our EDP is to offer breadth & depth in various technical experiences through challenging positions available in our organizations. This program will help expand your professional and technical competencies that will serve as the foundation for exceptional contributions that you will make at Pratt & Whitney.
